When we hand you a name, you hear it as our opinion. If that crew turns up late or leaves a mess in your hallway, you remember who sent them. So this page has one name on it instead of a directory.
Three things decide whether a company ends up here. They work the same towns we do, so the schedule is realistic. They put in writing what happens if something gets damaged. And they treat a finished floor as something worth protecting. That last one sounds soft. It is the one that matters most on a floor we just finished.
A Boston moving company. Most of their work is local moves around the city, plus long-distance moves out of Massachusetts.

Moving day and floor work usually land in the same week. Getting the order right protects both the floor and the budget.
Sanding and coating need the floor clear. Working around furniture means moving it twice and coating in sections, so the job runs longer and costs more. An empty house between owners or tenants is the easiest one to work in, and that window usually opens on moving day.
With a water-based finish, furniture can come back in about three to five days. An oil-based system needs roughly 14 days to cure, and you cannot stay in the house while it is being coated. That is a ten-day swing in when the truck should arrive. Worth settling before you book either one. More on both in hardwood floor refinishing.
Most new dents and deep scratches come from dragging something heavy across a room, not from daily use. A crew that lifts instead of drags will do more for your floor than any repair we can make afterwards. That is worth asking about before you book.

A floor you just paid for is most at risk on the day it gets walked over. Worth passing to whoever carries the boxes, crew or friends.
Dragging is what puts a deep scratch across three boards. Anything that has to slide gets hard-surface sliders or felt pads underneath first.
Appliances and safes belong on a dolly running over a covered lane, not straight on the boards. Plywood or a hard board spreads the weight of the wheels.
Doorways, hallways and stair landings take the most traffic. Use a breathable floor protection board there rather than taping plastic sheeting down across the room.
A finish that feels dry is not fully cured. Walking on it early is usually fine, but rolling a loaded dolly over it is not. Ask for the cure time and plan the truck around it.
Tape on a curing finish can pull it or leave a mark that only sanding takes out. Tape protection to itself or to the baseboard instead.
Walk the rooms while the crew is still there. A dent found on the day is a conversation, and one found a week later is an argument.

Before, when the timing allows. Sanding and coating need the rooms empty, so an empty house is the easiest one to work in. Doing it after you move in means shifting furniture room to room and coating in sections. That takes longer and costs more.
Lift it instead of dragging it. Put hard-surface sliders or felt pads under anything that has to slide, and keep appliances on a dolly running over a covered path. If the floor was finished recently, wait for the finish to cure before rolling heavy loads over it.
