In Plymouth, we install, restore, and fix hardwood floors all the time. This is one of the largest service areas in Massachusetts for a town of its size. Plymouth has the most land area of any city or town in the state, and its housing stock spans almost 400 years. There are homes from the 17th century, like the 1677 Sgt. William Harlow Family Homestead on Sandwich Street, as well as Federal and Greek Revival homes in the Bradford–Union Street Historic District, workers’ housing from the Cordage era in North Plymouth in the early 1900s, mid-century Capes in Manomet and Cedarville, and newer homes with wide-plank engineered boards in The Pinehills. When we work on a Plymouth home, we always use dustless floor sanding, cover the work area with plastic film, and run HEPA-filter dust control, which cuts down on airborne dust by about 90–95%. This is important for both new homes with tight seals and older homes with plaster, antiques, and original trim.
Lagler Trio is the most advanced fine-sanding machine on the market, and we can use it to give your home a "furniture-quality" finish. This is a popular request for custom Pinehills homes and downtown homes that have been fixed up. It works best in places that are big, open, and clear. Our process for installs is based on the weather in Plymouth, which is on the coast. The town is right on Cape Cod Bay, so the relative humidity changes a lot. It goes from about 74% in the spring to 80% in the middle of summer, and then it drops sharply when the heaters are turned on for the winter. That change in yearly moisture is exactly what makes boards cup, gap, or buckle when they are put together quickly. When we bring materials to a new location, we check the moisture levels of both the subfloor and the hardwood. We don’t glue or fix anything until the two levels are within 4% of each other. From preparing the base to the last fastener, every installation follows NWFA/NOFMA standards.
🌱 Promise to be eco-friendly
We use low-VOC sealants and finishes that are safe for the environment, and we try to get quality lumber from local suppliers as much as possible. For people who live near Plymouth Harbor, Plymouth Beach, and White Horse Beach, this is important because the air inside their houses and the ecosystems along the coast are both at risk.
Our company is based in Massachusetts, and we’ve worked on houses in Plymouth Center, North Plymouth, Chiltonville, Manomet, Cedarville, and The Pinehills. These include single-family homes, triple-deckers, condos on the water, and homes in 55+ communities. Check out our portfolio to see how our work fits into these very different types of homes, and our YouTube page for walkthroughs of our projects. We fix and restore wooden floors for people in Plymouth who want their floors to last through daily use, salt air, and changes in humidity. Our wood floor restoration service is designed to give you results that last a long time.
