When hardwood floors start to feel worn, uneven or out of place, the whole home can feel less cared for. That does not always mean the floor needs to be replaced. Weles Wood Floor Services helps Weymouth homeowners, condo owners, landlords and businesses decide whether repair, refinishing or installation will provide the better long-term value. See our completed work and customer reviews on Houzz, Yelp, Google, Thumbtack and Angi. A list of more than 500 client references is available on request.

We provide hardwood floor installation, refinishing, and repair and restoration throughout Weymouth. According to the Town’s official Housing Production Plan, approximately 57% of local housing units are detached single-family homes. Another 18% are in buildings with at least 20 units, while 15% are in buildings containing three to nineteen units. More than half of Weymouth’s housing stock was built before 1959. In an older home, the floor may have been sanded before. It may also include patched boards, worn stair parts or room transitions changed during earlier renovations. In a larger condominium building, access and scheduling may matter just as much as the floor itself. We inspect the wood, subfloor and working conditions before recommending what should happen next.
Flooring conditions can also vary across Weymouth. The Town identifies four village centers surrounded by established residential neighborhoods, with apartment and condominium buildings located throughout the community. A newer property at Union Point may require a different approach than a home that has been expanded or updated over several decades. In either setting, sanding should not leave the rest of the home buried in dust. Weles includes dustless floor sanding as standard. We use American Sanders, Oneida and backpack vacuums with HEPA filters to reduce airborne dust by approximately 90–95%. Exposed areas are also covered with plastic film during the work.
The sanding system should match the condition of the floor, not just the size of the room. Advanced Sanding adds the heavier Epoch HD fine buffer. Its multi-head attachment cuts from several directions and removes chattering marks that conventional equipment can leave behind. In suitable open areas, the Lagler Trio provides a finer surface by removing both straight sanding marks and chatter. Installation decisions begin with moisture. We acclimate the wood on-site, test the hardwood and subfloor, and keep the moisture difference within 4% before fastening. Moisture barriers are installed where needed. Boards wider than 3¼ inches receive adhesive as well as fasteners to support long-term stability.
Finishes You Can Live With
The right finish has to work with daily life, not just look good when the project is complete. Bona Mega One and Bona Traffic HD dry in approximately one to two hours between coats, and residents can remain in the home during coating. Traffic HD fully cures in about three days, while Mega One cures in about five. Oil-based Bona Woodline takes approximately 12–15 hours to dry between coats. Occupants cannot remain in the home during coating, and the finish takes about 14 days to become furniture-ready. We recommend a finish based on how the rooms are used, how much traffic the floor handles, whether pets live in the home and how much color change you want from the wood.
Weles operates nearly a dozen crews with fully equipped vans, and project managers are available seven days a week. View our portfolio to see completed installation, refinishing and repair projects. You can also follow our process on the Weles YouTube channel. When older boards remain structurally sound, targeted repair or refinishing can preserve more of the existing floor. It can also avoid the cost and disruption of replacing usable material. When subfloor damage requires structural alteration, Weymouth lists alterations among the projects that may require a building permit. The scope should be confirmed before construction begins.
